Analyis of the race

A typically less than strongly-contested fillies' handicap, with none in the field rated within 8lb of the maximum allowed and few having the profile of a likely imminent winner in open company. They went a good gallop, which seemed to help those coming from off the pace - including DREAM ROSE, who had the disadvantage of the widest draw and was being pushed along a long way out but responded to pressure, challenged on the outside in the straight and led around 1f out. This strong pace and stiff track seemed to suit her, though connections believe she has improved of late.

Jenny Soba also came from a wide draw and from off the pace and ran well considering that she had to wait for a gap in the straight - this was an improved effort. Grande Terre had hinted at a return to form on her previous start and confirmed it here, though she remains plenty high enough in the weights.
