DECREE NISI, running in his first handicap on his fourth start, did his job in nice style and may be able to build on this first win. He saw his race out in willing fashion under pressure and clearly relished this decent ground.

Musicmaestroplease had every chance, but was outpointed by the winner inside the last. To his credit, he finished comfortably clear of the rest, headed by Great Chieftain, who did not get home as well as the two principals.
