LADY MARANZI has an inconsistent profile but has shown ability on occasions, including when unlucky not to defy a lengthyabsence off this mark in November and, settling much better here, she travelled well close to the pace. She was slightly outpaced turning in when Rockys Girl quickened clear, but it proved only momentary as once she found her stride she soon cut down that rival and scooted clear.
Rockys Girl cruised into contention up the inside rail, where there was ample room with the majority of the field congregating down the middle of the track. Cutting the final corner, she made her bid for glory but was readily out-pointed by the winner in the closing stages.
