An uncompetitive selling hurdle in which only a handful could be given a realistic chance and it was recent Hereford winner SUNLEY FUTURE who came out on top. Worryingly dismounted after the finish when winning at the weekend, there was no evidence of a problem here and having begun to stretch the field at the first down the far side, he travelled smoothly into the straight before staying on too strongly for both Lewis Island and It's My Party. Evidently progressive, the application of a hood and deafeners has benefited him greatly and, with his effectiveness on both fast and soft proven, he may well be up to completing a hat-trick at this sort of level.

The quirky Lewis Island had to be coaxed into the start and did not travel quite as well as could have been expected, but found plenty under pressure and rallied past It's My Party for second on the run-in, not quite being able to get to the winner. He has the ability to win races at this level, but his attitude will continue to be a concern.

These were a little way ahead of Gotontheluckyone, who returned to something like his course form of last month, and Desert Moonbeam, who plugged on from some way back having got a bit behind early. She looks in need of further now.
