Although outpaced down the far side in a race run at afair gallop, he stayed on well under strong driving from the last on the far side and was well on top at the finish. He was on a mark 9lb higher than when scoring at Wetherby in December and is clearly going the right way as he has now won two of his four races over fences.
Silver Jack, tried in cheekpieces, ran better than last time when pulled up here, but was outpointed by the winner in the straight.
These three were clear of Jerom de Vindecy, who was slow to break. He got in touch with the leaders down the far side but was soon beaten off.
Kharak was never going, a comment which also applied to Fountain Brig, even though he has form in this ground.
