CORALBROOK, who had not shown all that much enthusiasm in six previous hurdle outings, finally proved his worth and landed his first career success at the eighth attempt. He has clearly benefited from a recent break, but it was more likely the combination of first-time blinkers and a switch to fast ground that worked the oracle, and he should be rated value for a bit further as hewas markedly idling on the run-in having been in front after jumping three from home. He probably has more to offer on this sort of ground over timber, but whether the headgear has the same effect next time remains to be seen.
Gold Flo, racing offa 10b higher mark than when successful at Limerick in December, was under pressure a long way from home - looking uneasy on the quick surface - but stuck to her task in resolute fashion and was coming back at the idling winner on the run-in. She can do better from this mark when reverting to a suitably easier surface in the future.
Boing Boing, returning from a nine-month layoff, was not disgraced and should come on plenty for this outing.Wally Wonder failed to really improve for the re-application of blinkers and dropped out of the lead when the race got serious after four out.
Grand Bay, making his handicap debut, found nothing for pressure when it mattered and looks one to avoid on this evidence.
