It went the way of course specialist RUNNER BEAN, from the stable that took this event in 2005 with Woodenbridge Dream, who went to the front full of running turning for home and ultimately came home to score as he pleased. He's not the easiest to predict these days, but his form figures as a chaser at this track now read 1313211U1, and he is proven on this sort of ground. He will now face a hike back up in the weights, however, and he is not one to rely on for a follow-up bid.
Priscilla, who unseated at the final fence with the race at her mercy last time at Taunton, ran a sound race off this 5lb higher mark yet proved no match for the winner. She helps set the standard of this form and deserves to find an opening.
Randolph O'Brien, who would have finished behind Priscilla at Taunton last time had that rival not unseated, was given a positive ride and acquitted himself well enough, again leaving the impression he will be better served by an even stiffer test.
Barton Hill failed to see out this trip all that well, but posted a fair effort all the same and is entitled to improve a touch for this outing.
Lubinas, up 9lb for scoring comfortably over course and distance last month, was well held and the handicapper now appears to have his measure.
Clouding Over turned in a laboured effort and proved disappointing. She has a deal to prove now.
