A decent pace helped ALFY RICH, who was stepping down in trip but stayed on to lead two-out and held on well - though he had not looked well handicapped before this and is in for another rise in the weights.
The Miner was ridden some way out but kept on for second, hinting that he is over whatever had caused him to run so poorly on his two previous starts. Nifty Roy was not disgraced on this chasing debut and will probably benefit from stepping back up in trip. As will The Frosty Ferret. He had disappointed over longer distances recently but kept on here after leading from the fifth until two-out.
