REGAL HEIGHTS, who had been ridden out to win a run-of-the-mill contest at Ayr last month, is progressing and put up an improved display here, travelling well, leading from three-out and scoring in good style. A stiff 2m seems to suit him and he looks a useful hurdler. He has the physique to make a decent chaser when the time comes.
Two Miles West had looked promising in two runs before Christmas but had little excuse here, ridden some way out and keeping on without finding the pace to catch the winner.
Nikola did not live up to the potential he had appeared to show behind Straw Bear at Leicester first time out, making hard work of it.
Secret Pact showed ability on the Flat as a two-year-old and looks to retain much of it judged by this hurdling debut. He should improve for this first run in 474 days too. Nile Moon also showed a bit on his first run over hurdles, as did Rothbury, and both should improve.
