A moderate seller which concerned only four horses from a long way out. MIZINKY had shown she retained ability when reappearing from a long break early last month and may well have ‘bounced' when she ran again just five days later. There was no sign of fatigue here, though, as she needed all her stamina reserves to grab what had seemed an unlikely victory on the run-in. This was her first victory over hurdles at the tenth attempt.

Windy Spirit, better known as a chaser these days and having his first run over hurdles since August 2000, was given a positive ride and, after looking sure to be swallowed up rounding the home bend, managed to battle his way back to the front jumping the last. However, he was just unable to withstand the winner's late flourish in the shadow of the post.

Ilabon had been pulled up on his last two starts after reappearing from a long layoff, though he did have possible excuses, and was taking a drop in class here. He looked sure to win when cruising to the front turning for home, but he didn't find as much off the bridle as had looked likely and looks one to treat with caution.
