It proved too much for all bar Sword Of Damascus, who kept edging closer from the home bend without quite threatening to reel in the game winner.
The pair finished well clear to suggest they have bright futures. The winner left behind his lame run last time and looks the sort to go on over hurdles.
Sword Of Damascus, the four-year-old, deserves plenty of credit under his penalty and he gives the form a solid look after his run in the Listed bumper at Cheltenham following his two wins, These were all over shorter but he saw out this stiff two miles well.
Victor Daly was a shade disappointing, not finding much when rousted along after tracking the leaders smoothly until the bottom of the hill into the final four furlongs.
