RED SUN, who had won here 13 months ago and has since been campaigned in Ireland, was always close to the pace on this return to sand action and was driven clear in the straight to score with a bit to spare over pacesetting Tycheros.
The latter had been too keen for his own good and, though his rider tried to restrain him, he was not helped by the close attention of the winner, Lady Misha and Alexander Sapphire, and Red Sun always had his number from the home turn.
Spectested, slowly away as usual and held up some way off the pace, got going much too late to be any sort of threat, while Bobby Kennard was also doing his best work late on.
