Harlov, who won this event two years ago, ran another sound race, running on well from off the pace. He stays well, and unlike the winner, is effective with plenty of give in the ground.
Gunther McBride is back on a fair mark, but has yet to prove conclusively that he stays this far. Virgin Soldier wasn't disgraced, Bang And Blame is up in the weights, but his jumping let him down here as he made several mistakes and eventually paid the penalty after another bold bid from the front.
