The ground was about good, with this being run in time just over four seconds above standard. This was just an ordinary seller, but it was a first hurdles success for the veteran COLWAY RITZ, who has won ten times on the Flat. Always travelling well,he recovered from a mistake two out to score driven out. He's comparatively lightly-raced over hurdles, but it remains to be seen whether he will progress enough to defy a rise up the ratings.

Seraph, 4lb higher than when second on his last start,continues in good form and should find a race. This was back to form by Armentieres, who had run well here two runs ago, but fared poorly on his latest start. He kept on well and should be suited by a return to a longer trip.
