Vulcan Lane looked a real threat to the winner from two out, but he could never quite reel in the winner.
Saxon Mill, having only his second start following a comeback, may still have needed this.
Gaucho failed to build on the promise he showed on his comeback outing a couple of weeks ago and the obvious conclusion is that this race may have come a fraction too soon for him after those exertions.
