A modest but competitive handicap hurdle that few go into from off the pace. TITIAN FLAME was up with the pace from the start and, after taking over with a circuit to go, kept up the gallop and may still have won even if Durante had stayed on his feet. She gained her only previous win around this time last year, but the stable is just coming out of a period with a virus and that may be the reason for the improved performance.

My Rosie Ribbons was another to produce an improved effort on this handicap debut. She seems to be improving with experience and the testing ground appears to suit her.

Abzuson, like the first two, was in the front rank throughout and kept galloping to the line. He seems happier over hurdles than he was over fences.

High Altitude was never going well and his jockey was niggling from an early stage; in the circumstances he did well to finish as close as he did.

Durante was the only one to come from off the pace and was on the heels of the winner when taking a crashing fall two out. He looked somewhat unlucky but the winner was not stopping.

The first three in the betting, Joe Brown, Signature Tune and Marsh Run were all somewhat disappointing, although Signature Tune was stepping up in trip and may not have got home in the conditions.
