Crazy Horse came from a long way back to take second, and on this evidence the 13-year-old could still nick a little race.
Nerone has been running some decent races and this was another fair effort, having had every chance.
Argento, back over hurdles, ran quite well. He has been running with some credit over fences too, but he has not won since November 2003.
Chef De Couer travelled well, but just flattened out when it mattered.
Templet is consistent enough without winning, and was not disgraced from 6lb out of the handicap.
