Jacks Craic lacked the chasing experience of most of his rivals but ran a good race and the result might have been different had he not got in too close to the final fence when challenging. He rallied on the run-in but the damage had been done.
Lorient Express, a place behind Palua on Saturday, has twice been held from this mark now but he remains in good heart. He does have a tendency to get rather low over his fences and that contributed to his defeat.
