| A decisive success for SUNDAY CITY, who is progressing well at this game and was hardly winning out of turn after two solid efforts in defeat on his latest starts. Skipping clear leaving the back straight, he had only to be kept up to his work to remain clear. He has the scope to climb further up the ladder. Red Man made a gallant attempt, but he was unable to mix it with the winner from the third-last. He looks on good terms with himself and will not always come across a rival as progressive as the winner. Uncle John ran creditably under his penalty, while Lord Baskerville, a long-standing maiden, was far from disgraced. The remainder were well beaten.
