This easier ground was much to his liking, as was the trip, and he could have more to offer now he has resumed winning ways. It would also come as little surprise to see him back over fences soon and, considering he was successful on his only previous outing over the bigger obstacles in Ireland, he could be well treated in that sphere off a mark of 90.
Welsh Dane fared the best of those to force the early gallop and was only just denied. He is a very consistent performer, but never one to rely on for win-only purposes.
Emphatic got outpaced before keeping on again in the straight and looks in need of further respite from the Handicapper.
Azzemour appeared a threat turning for home, but failed to sustain hiseffort when push came to shove. He may improve for the outing and probably wants faster ground.
Sandmartin, a clear-cut winner at Exeter on his handicap bow a week previously, stopped very quickly at the top of the straight and was most disappointing under his penalty. He was eventually pulled up before the last flight as though something was amiss.
