Alpaga Le Jomage, a shock 40-1 winner at Southwell last week, showed that performance was no fluke as ran creditably under his penalty but found the concession of weight all round beyond him over a trip that probably stretched his stamina to its limits.
Veteran Lord Chamberlain got going much too late, as is usually the case with him these days, and - despite being sent off favourite here - he is usually worth opposing these days.
