Vicars Destiny, who had won over 2m4f and 2m5fon the Flat last year, proved well suited by this step up in trip, and he stayed on well to take second after the last. He'll be interesting when under similar conditions over three miles or more next time.
Jaunty Times came into the race in good form, and though not disgraced after having every chance, left the impression he might be better back over 2m5f. That said, he's up inthe weights now and the handicapper may have his measure.
Sharp Jack kept on without getting into it, Overserved was struggling a long way out and Fullards faded after making much of the running.
Rosarian, who had shaped well on his return from a break, was never going particularly strongly and Derivative was never going or jumping.
