ALFASONIC, who sat off the sound pace, made rapid headway racing downhill on the last circuit and did well to manage another spurt from the home turn to reverse recent form with Gritti Palace. He is a chaser in the making and could take in novice handicaps depending how the official sees this success.
Gritti Palace did it the hard way, tracking thepace throughout and committing to a stamina test, which beat the rest well enough.
Major Catch was another to mix it up front and despite weakening into the straight deserves credit for gamely keeping going a distance clear of the rest, who cried enough and were eased.
