New England ran a good race under a penalty, forced wide over two furlongs out but leading close homeuntil caught on the line.
Harare was not helped by racing apart from the first two on the inside of the track, leading well inside the final furlong but unable to hold off the principals, and again showed he has a small race in him.
Wilford Maverick did not get a clear run on the inside and may be worth another chance at this trip, though he took a keen hold.
Musiotal was not entirely disgraced from his wide draw and may not have lasted out the trip.
