A strong pace but even by banded standards this was a very weak race with few of the field having shown much semblance of form, and neither of the market leaders seemingly giving their running.

MY REFLECTION was at least open to a little improvement after just three outings and showed his first clear sign of ability, leading over a furlong out for a tidy success. The way he edged right once hitting the front suggested he is still less than the finished article and has further improvement in him - but he will need to find more if he is to win outside banded company.

The good gallop suited Chalice Welcome who was slowly into his stride but kept on in the latter stages for second - his last run had been over a mile and he may benefit from reverting to further.

This looked the level for the dropped-in-class Sanders Boy, who was outpaced some way out but kept on in the straight.

Sarah's Art was one of those to help force the strong early pace and paid the price late on - he is worth another try at five furlongs on this evidence.

Similar comments apply to market rival Musical City, who is better than her finishing position suggests.
