A dreadful race with half the field having capitulated before the last half-mile and the others slogging it out up the straight. There was a very strong pace for two furlongs with Stolen keen to lead and, although it eased noticeably around the grandstand bend, these poor performers suffered for it.

JACK ROLFE, who was robbed of his hurdling debut when Newbury was abandoned last week, struggled to go the pace but outstayed his rivals well enough in the end. He could turn to hurdling back at Newbury next week if the ground is good - otherwise, on this showing, he has a handicap mark to exploit.

Rose Bien was withdrawn after refusing to enter the stalls for a second time in the last 12 months, putting her on a final warning with the stewards.
