A decent little novice chase. LE VOLFONI had no easy task under a 10lb penalty but completed his hat-trick after being left clear by the last-fence fall of Priors Dale, who was a length down but coming back at him. Le Volfoni had to work to get past Priors Dale and, having come under strong pressure between the last two fences, still faced a scrap at the last. But he loves this ground and coped with the tight track, having gained his previous wins at Chepstow and Haydock. There are no big plans for him.

Priors Dale was a decent hurdler - an all-the-way winner off 120 at Windsor two outings previously - and he made a really promising chasing debut. He jumped soundly in front, and having been headed by the winner straightening for home he rallied when switched right and was not out of it when he made his first real mistake at the last. He probably wouldn't have won, especially as Plumpton has a short run-in, but he would have been a good second. He lay winded for some time but looks sure to win a similar race if the experience hasn't left its mark.

My World's course-and-distance second to Voy Pur Ustedes looks all the better now. On the face of it she was disappointing, especially as she enjoyed a huge weight concession if one takes into account her rider's claim a hurdler of similar merit. However, a mistake at the fourth-last may have knocked the stuffing out of her and she is worth another chance.

Jacks Craic has had some stiffish tasks over fences and finished well beaten after a mistake three out.
